Corporate Express Supports Fair Trade Fortnight

Make the Big Swap and help make the world a better place
Let’s get as many people as we can to swap as much as we can. Get active, challenge your friends and swap your usual stuff – your coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate – even your cotton tee shirt and hat – to Fairtrade stuff.

The more we swap the bigger the impact we make on the lives of small-scale producers in developing countries. With 2bn people living on less than $2 a day – swapping your usual stuff for Fairtrade stuff helps create a better life for the coffee and cocoal growers, tea plucekrs, cotton pickers and banana growers and their families. As well as a guaranteed minimum price, the extra Fairtrade Premium empowers growers to invest in the future for their communities and help themselves out of poverty. So get swapping!  www.fta.org.au/thebigswap

Fairtrade Coffee Break
Corporate Express encourages our customers to support Fair Trade Fortnight 2010 by hosting a Fairtrade Coffee Break in your workplace.  By swapping to Fairtrade products today, you can help to change the lives of farmers and producers across the developing world.

A Fairtrade Coffee Break is usually a morning or afternoon tea people organise as part of Fair Trade Fortnight (1-16 May) to raise awareness of the importance of fair trade. Fair trade is about paying farmers a fair price for their produce – enabling sustainable production and providing income security for producers.

Corporate Express Australia and the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand encourage everyone to hold a Coffee Break event in support of fair trade. We can provide you with all the resources you need including:

• A downloadable video of Fairtrade from Oxfam: http://www.oxfam.org.au/act/events/fair-trade-coffee-break
• Brochures, posters, postcards, demand cards from www.fta.org.au
• Fairtrade coffee and tea (from your Account Manager)

Invite your colleagues and friends and purchase Fairtrade Certified coffee and tea from Corporate Express including brands such as Scarborough Fair, Jasper Cofee, Global Café Direct, Nescafe and Grinders.

Why don’t you take the opportunity to talk to your employer about buying 100% Fairtrade coffee and tea supplies for your workplace? You might be able to qualify as a Fair Trade Workplace. http://www.fairtrade.com.au/get-involved/workplace

This is a fun but effective way you can help build a better future for small-scale farmers in developing countries so don’t delay.  Check out www.fta.org.au/thebigswap to read some Swap Stories!
