Support for our communities
Over $74,000 donated to Victoria's bushfire victims and more than $250,000 donated to charities in 2008

But it’s not just about being committed to our responsibilities of being a good corporate citizen.

Everyone feels good about helping someone else, and so do we. We believe that it’s important to provide support when we can, and that support comes in many different ways. We live and operate in communities, and being part of a community means sharing resources.

Over the years, it has been our privilege to support a number of national and local charities, and sponsor community programs.

We participate in national programs such as: Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and Red Nose Day, and work with a number of specific charities, including: Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick; SIDS and Kids WA; Starlight Children’s Foundation; Mater Foundation; The Salvation Army; and stepUp Foundation NZ.

In 2008, we donated more than $250,000 to charitable organisations.

We’ve already started the year off with a series of fundraising efforts for the Victorian Bushfire appeal, which stands at around $70,000 at the time of writing. Employees across Corporate Express raised in excess of $30,000, and this was then matched by the company.

But it’s not just about the money. These programs are driven by our people – they volunteer their time, their weekends and their days off, to support the work that we do in our communities. They care, they contribute, and they learn about others less fortunate than themselves.

And that’s really what it’s all about.
