We like to make it as easy as possible for our customers to do business with us. And when we realised that the search engine in NetXpress, our on-line ordering system, could be improved to deliver the best, most relevant results, we sprang into action. This means each time you search the most relevant items will appear first these can then be sorted by price, pack size, description etc.
Ross Oakhill, e-commerce Business Manager for Corporate Express, was in charge of the project:
“A review of NetXpress showed us that up to 40 per cent of all pages opened were search-related, and that many of these searches weren’t always giving our customers what they were looking for.
“So we decided to improve our search capabilities and give our customers a better NetXpress experience.
“We’ll be adding a brand new search engine, so that results will be more relevant to the keywords that customers enter.
“Adding a thesaurus capability, improved ‘did you mean’ functionality and more accurate word recognition should reduce the number of ‘no result’ searches, giving customers quicker access to what they’re looking for, and making the search experience a much more user-friendly one.
